She received her Ph.D. from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in year 2007. Her research interests include Labor Economics and Health Economics. Currently, she is interested in social determinants of child health, and in the relationship between socioeconomic status and health. There are two strands of her research. The current focuses on the determinants of health for low-income children. One strand of her research focuses on the extent to which insults to health and activity limitations are responsible for poor health for children in low-income families. And second, she also investigates the effects of expanding public health insurance eligibility for older children. Her recent work in Journal of Health Economics find some evidence that Medicaid eligibility in early childhood has positive effects on future health. This may indicate that adequate medical care early on puts children on a better health trajectory, resulting in better health as they grow. Her work is published in top journals such as Journal of Health Economics, Health Economics and Health Affairs. At Peking University, she currently teaches Advanced Microeconomics and Labor Economics for PH.D. Students, Labor Economics for undergraduate students and finally Managerial Economics for MBA programs. |
